My Opinion: 

Having been recommended to Sally Page's novels a couple of years ago, she is now a firm favourite of mine. 'Six Little Words' is the fourth I have read and it is just as captivating as her previous ones.

A group of very diverse men and women get together as a group to try and discover creativity within themselves. They all have inner struggles ranging from battling cancer to difficult childhoods. The group gives them the confidence to form new friendships and regain their self esteem. Using quotes from Shakespeare to introduce each chapter, cleverly leads the characters into the creative ideas they come up with.

Both funny and sad the story is to be recommended to readers that enjoy character driven fiction that deals with contemporary problems.

In her debut novel, The Keeper of Stories, Sally combines her love of history and writing with her abiding interest in the stories people have to tell. Sally now lives in Dorset. Her eldest daughter, Alex, is a doctor and her younger daughter is the author, Libby Page. Both are keen wild swimmers.

My Opinion: 

A friend recommended Sally Page to me last year and I have now read and throughly enjoyed all three of the titles she has so far published.  

In 'The Secrets of Flowers' the protagonist Emma is finding it hard, one year on to come to terms with the death of her husband.  In an effort to move on she gives up a scientific research career to work in a garden centre and train as a florist. Emma's love of flowers and an unexpected interest in the Titanic make for an emotional read as she unravels the mysteries she discovers. The parallel storyline about the real life person, Violet Jessop who worked on the Titanic ties this heartwarming tale together perfectly.

What a captivating read this is with such believable characters involved in an interesting Titanic storyline. Highly recommend to readers that enjoy a heartwarming read and love flowers. As you read you can almost smell them.

My Opinion: 

Sally Page has recently published her third novel 'The Secrets of Flowers'. As this title is already on my Wishlist I decided to read her two previous novels first, as her writing was recommended to me. So glad as I have throughly enjoyed them both and am now looking forward to reading her most recent.  

'The Book of Beginnings' is predominantly about friendship and how much contentment one can gain from those we surround ourselves with, both family and friends. The protagonists Jo, Ruth and Malcolm form a friendship which initially seems so unlikely. They all have stories to tell that transform each others lives and make them firm friends. The story is written with compassion, strong characters and some fascinating insights into some of the residents of Highgate Cemetery.

Sally Page's writing is original and I highly recommend her writing to all readers. This latest novel is such a heart warming read.

My Opinion: 

Sally Page has recently published her third novel 'The Secrets of Flowers'. As this title is already on my Wishlist I have decided to read this her debut and 'The Book of Beginnings ' first, as her writing has been recommended to me.

The protagonist and collector of stories is Janice. she works as a Domestic cleaner and the story revolves around her clients stories and those of others in her life. Janice also has a story of her own, that she certainly does not want to share.

This winsome novel was such delight to read. I highly recommend it to any reader looking for something lighthearted, amusing and distinctive.
